Framer

I have also tried to design a website in Framer as opposed to standard HTML and CSS. From doing this I can see the advantages and disadvantages to using both options. HTML and CSS is much more customisable, if you have the relevant skills needed to make an entire website from scratch using HTML you can completely make a unique website and there really is no limitations to what you can make. HTML however has a learning curve, as I learned myself. One could spend just as much time researching the relevant code to create the website they had envisioned as opposed to simple spending that time creating it in a web-based platform.

That’s where Framer steps in, Framer is a web-based platform that allows you to design a website in the same fashion that you would design something on Figma or an Adobe programme. Framer lets you focus more on the design aspects of the website while it takes care of the relevant code needed. There has been many different online web-based platforms like Framer and there will only continue to be more in the future, this makes programmes like these unavoidable to an Interaction Designer. Potentially all work in the future could be made using these web-based platforms.
